Finalists announced
The eventual winners and runners-up will be revealed on the 19th November at the 2009 Morgan Foundation Entrepreneur Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner to be held at the Carden Park Hotel, near Chester.Â
The final judging phase of the Awards involves each of the short-listed candidates making a presentation to a panel of experts. These will include the founder of the Awards, businessman and Wolves Chairman Steve Morgan, and John Powell, Corporate Director North of England, of the main sponsor, Barclays Commercial Bank.
Steve Morgan said that it was an achievement for the finalists to have got to this stage in the competition. “There were a record number of entries to this year’s Awards and the first round judges had an extremely difficult task,” he explains. “We had applications from across the region from a diverse range of individuals, businesses, charities and social enterprises and the standard proves that entrepreneurship is alive and kicking.”
Now in their third year, the Awards were open to charities, social enterprises, businesses and entrepreneurs from Merseyside, Cheshire, Shropshire, North Wales and the Wolverhampton area.
