Carden Park Business Toursim

Business Tourism Awards

Friday 15th June, 2007

De Vere Carden Park is honoured to have won the prestigious Business Tourism Award of the Year, following the completion of its dramatic refurbishment.

The award was short listed to three candidates before Carden Park was announced as the winner at the annual awards ceremony at Chester Race Course on Friday 8th June.

One of the world’s leading golf and leisure retreats, the hotel, set in 750 acres of beautiful countryside excelled over all other organisations entered from the business tourism industry, which included exhibition centres, convention hotels, country house properties and conference and banqueting venues.

Judges were impressed with the property’s overall commitment to the high quality service it provides to the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sectors of the tourism industry. The hotel proved particularly innovative and progressive in terms of the new facilities following the hotel’s recent upgrade.

Criteria also taken into consideration was the importance of staff training via courses undertaken, and an awareness of the environment such as the use of sustainable materials, energy saving initiatives, reducing waste and supporting the local economy/community. Both training investment and environmental awareness are issues taken very seriously at De Vere Carden Park.

General Manager Hamish Ferguson commented, “We are delighted to have won this highly regarded award which is testament to the dedicated team we have here at De Vere Carden Park. The recent refurbishment has gone extremely well and we welcome the business and incentive market to come and visit our beautiful property. We look forward to delivering above and beyond their expectations.”

Visit Chester & Cheshire Chairman, Mike Cooksley added: I have no doubt that this award will provide a major boost to the team’s morale, its brand and its future business prospects. I hope that Carden Park Hotel’s success will inspire others to consider entry to next year’s Visit Chester & Cheshire Annual Awards.”
